We have made 91,224 baht for the Garage Sale 2010.  This is including the air-conditioning unit that will be wire the money to me later.  At the end we sell clothing at 5 baht/each and give away the junk on the other side.

Now, just because Lynne Richards, who first alerted us to this potential for do-gooding, has sadly left Thailand, doesn’t mean we don’t need you to continue to save your ring pulls.  Please bring your ring pulls to the Coffee Mornings or Lunches, where Sue Grogan will now be collecting them.

The date of this year’s Holiday Bazaar has been revealed!  Save the date – October 2 – at the Royal Cliff Beach Resort Pattaya.  Shop until you drop, get ready for the festive season, support the local community and help PILC reach the same goals collecting money as last year – or why not make it better.

Not only is the Holiday Bazaar an annual tradition of the PILC but also it gives members and the public a chance to meet up, either sell or buy an array of goods from silverware, to jewelry, to local handicrafts, to food and wine.  Members of PILC customarily give their time and money to help out the people of the Eastern Seaboard, however on the occasion of the Holiday Bazaar the PILC Ladies really come into their own.  Many helpers are needed to make this event a success: advertising and promotion, selling raffle tickets, finding vendors, locating sponsors, manning the doors on the day, organizing the tables, all these need volunteers.  For more information please e-mail Bea Grunwell or Sandra Schonherr.

The theme for the evening is “Hollywood meets Bollywood”, and PILC members and their guests are encouraged to come dressed in either black tie, traditional costume, or their favourite Hollywood or Bollywood character.

Once again we need some help from our Indian members for ideas, advice and contacts, help with attracting sponsors for the evening, selling tickets (we would like to break some records this year, although we are being told times are hard), finding and donating prizes for the auction held on the evening, designing the menu, programmes and flyers.  For more information please e-mail or contact Bea Grunwell or Sandra Schonherr.

This dedicated group of women has been getting together each and every Thursday from 10 am to 12 pm at Bowling Plus (463/78 Moo 9, Second Road – [across the road, and just north of Big C]).  The usual competive spirit is left at the door as we are in it for the joy of the “sport”, the warmth of friendship that can only exist when women get together and, of course, as much laughter as we can muster in one morning.

This is an open invitation to any or all of you who whould love to come and share in our Thursday morning activity.  When we say “bowling is fun” we mean it.  Not to mention inexpensive – 60 baht/game plus 30 baht for rental shoes.

Naturally, bowling is followed by lunch at a different Pattaya restaurant each time.  It is always a pleasant surprise as to where it is going to be.
